Catching up

It has been a couple of weeks since I finished the exam.  Only 2-4 more before I find out my score...  Until then, I have been keeping very busy catching up and doing all the things I didn't have time to do while I was buried in books.  It has been very nice.  Yesterday as a treat to myself, I spent a day with the girls at the Spa.  We had a wonderful time.  Today I started preparing the house for entertaining.  We have a few parties coming up.  First is our brunch with my family.  My sister and her fiancee are flying in for a week from DC.  The only time we had to see them while Alex was still in town was the 17th.  That just so happens to be the same day we are hosting our team party...  It will be a very busy day.  After our dinner party Alex will be on a plane to NY to attend cooking class at CIA.

Before all of this we will need to prepare the house.  This will be Alex's first Christmas tree in a long time.  It will be fun.  I am planning on a Noble.  I love the space they offer for big ornaments.  I just finished putting a couple of candelabras in the fireplace since we do not plan on burning a fire - they look quite lovely.  I bought our linens for the extra table and started doing some pick-up around the house.  Once Alex is gone, I think we will hit the shopping hard.  I am afraid it will be a late year but figure it is the best time to get it all done. 

Alex returns on the 22nd and we will take off for Snowbird the next day.  I am very excited to have Fen and Rory there with us.  We will be staying there for four days.  Once we return it will be time to prepare for New Years - luckily this will be a little less work.

I have been knitting again.  I am working on mittens for my neices which are very fun.  My last goal is to get to the studio for some play with clay.  I am really looking forward to getting muddy again...
